April 22, 2010: LG Electronics today announced the launch of the new stylish 3G enable multimedia Mobile Phones LG GU285 at Rs.6500 in India.
The new LG GU285 sleek compact slider mobile phone which is 3G enabled and has a large 5.6cm screen. It has equipped with 1.3MP smart camera, with an added function of printing images through blue tooth and Secondary VGA Camera to make Video Calls as well as to take users own images.
LG has announced the launch of its full slide-out QWERTY, Android laden touchscreen handset, the LG GW620 in India.
The phone comes in at a time when the likes of HTC and Samsung had launched quite a few handsets in the mid-range segment -all based on Android. The LG GW620 is expected to compete with the likes of the Samsung i7500 Galaxy and the HTC Tattoo – both of which are priced lower than the former.
Korean electronic major LG has expanded its cell phone portfolio with the addition of two new handsets Cookie Plus (LG GS500) and Cookie Fresh (LG GS290).
The duo come with what LG calls a “cartoon-styled” user interface called LiveSquare. Both the phones support social networking applications including Twitter and Facebook and downloadable widgets.
LG Electronics has unveiled the LG GD510, marketed as ‘Cookie Pep’ (Cookie Pop in other markets) in the Indian market.
‘Cookie Pep’, is a compact 3-inch full touch screen phone bundled with social networking features and is targeted at the young audience. “The all new LG Cookie Pep is in line with our strategy of introducing innovative gadgets and connecting with the youth through relatable propositions.
Micromax is now India’s third-largest GSM mobile phone vendor with a market share of 6 percent after Nokia (62 percent) and Samsung (8 percent), according to research firm IDC. It sells anywhere from 700,000 to one million mobile phones every month. And by its own estimates it is now selling nearly Rs.1,500 crore worth of phones annually.
“We are not the poor cousins of Nokia,” says Vikas Jain, one of the four friends who together started and grew Micromax to its present position. “Instead we will force Nokia to launch newer products to compete with us.”

The latest LG Chocolate edition handset dubbed LG BL40 has been launched in India by the company for providing Indian customers a slim and sleek device supported by cutting edge technology and very user friendly features.
The luxurious handset is very similar to the LG Chocolate BL20 and the firm tried to epitomize style and elegance with the help of newly launched device. Major attractions of LG Chocolate device include a 4-inch wide HD LCD screen with 800 x 345 pixel resolution.
The world’s leading software firm Microsoft is now focusing on the fast growing smartphones market in India after the netbooks segment– a new category created to brigde the gap between mobiles and laptops– received lukewarm response from buyers.
“We have heavily invested in that space and will continue to do so. It is still a very competitive space,” Microsoft Corporate Vice President (OEM Division) Steve Guggenheimer told PTI.
LG recently launched its innovatively designed handset dubbed GD900 Crystal for Indian consumers. The device boasts of LG’s advanced touch technology and Gesture Command.
The LG Crystal claims to be the world’s first transparent handset and features intuitive 3D S-class UI. The GD900 sports a 7.62 cms WVGA full touchscreen display and incorporates an alphanumeric keypad that doubles as a touchpad for controlling the handset.
