April 22, 2010: Bharti Airtel has announced the launch of Live Aarti service for its subscribers. Airtel subscribers will now be able to listen to live prayers from some places of worship in India which include Tirupati Balaji, Sidhi Vinayak, Shri Shirdi Sai Baba and Bangla Sahib.
In a press statement, the company claimed it was the first service on mobile offering live puja. Users need to call on different numbers from their mobiles for subscribing to different shrines and have to pay Rs 5 as a onetime membership fee along with a daily subscription charge of Rs 2 per shrine.

April 17, 2010: ZTE Telecom, a provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, expects a business of $4 billion for the telecom vendor industry, which will be generated soon with the likely rollout of 3G, WiMax and other next generation communication services in India.
The company is eyeing about 10-15 per cent share out of this market, its chairman cum managing director D K Ghosh said here on Friday.

Nokia on Thursday launched its unlimited music downloading service in China, in a move to strengthen its position in the world’s biggest mobile market.
The unlimited music download offering in China will add further momentum to Nokia’s leadership in the world’s highest growth markets, including Brazil, Russia and Indonesia, the company said in a statement.

Indian Premier League (IPL) and its licensing partner Global Cricket Ventures (GCV) have tied up with July Systems, to launch an IPL mobile internet service, designed for the Indian market.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) awarded the exclusive rights for mobile match alerts, SMS, MMS and other services to vRock Mobile Communications — a move that would curtail telecom operators from generating and distributing match-related content on their own.
As per the agreement, vRock Mobile, a value-added services firm, will have the exclusive rights for creating and transmitting mobile content such as SMS, MMS, alerts, games, live audio commentary and others related to the upcoming IPL matches.
