Nokia introduces four new handsets in Bihar

NokiaApril 22, 2010: Mobile handset major Nokia on Thursday launched four new affordable mobile phone sets in Bihar with relevant features such as first time access to the internet, music with 3.5 MM audio visual connector, dust-resistant keypad and up to 22 days battery standby time.

“We are launching Nokia-2690, Nokia-800, Nokia-616 and Nokia-1280 with estimated cost of Rs 2800, Rs 1600, Rs 1400 and Rs 1200,” Viral Oza, head of the activation, media and online marketing, told reporters after launching the new sets.

India’s leading mobile manufacturer, Nokia has announced on Wednesday to introduce two new handsets-‘Nokia X’ and ‘Nokia C’ by the end of this year.

Nokia India, Regional General Manager, Chandan Dang said, “We are going to launch two new phone series—— Nokia X and Nokia C—— within the current quarter in the country.”

Microsoft launches KIN smartphones

Microsoft Corp launched two new phones (Kin one and Kin two) aimed at young people, marking a fresh assault on the low end of the growing smartphone market, where BlackBerry maker Research in Motion Ltd and Apple Inc now dominate.

“Kin is an interesting attempt to target the 15 to 25 market,” said Ross Rubin, consumer electronics and wireless industry analyst at market research firm NPD Group.
