Over the years, UnwireIndia took responsibility and initiative to encompass the latest from the ever-expanding world and tried to match the speed by introducing new sectors like automobile, games, social networking and aviation. Unwireindia have tried to cover both minute and large details which would have in some way or the other affected you and your life.

This journey which started as an information aggregator made us realise that its high time that you as our partner,friend and follower should receive unified unadulterated experience rather than hoping between sub-domains (news, congeries and wheels) for news and updates.

So as a solution to this and mark the occasion of our 3rd anniversary… Unwireindia proudly announce the launch of a ‘new and improved‘ website – unwireindia.com. HTC Legend with Android 2.1 arrives in India

HTC has announced the availability of the HTC Legend in India. The phone aims to take the Android experience to a whole new level with its improvised HTC Sense experience.

The phone has been designed from a single block of aluminum to transform into a sleek handset. It comes with a 3.2-inch OLED HVGA display. The trackball has now been fitted with an optical joystick alongside a narrow button to enhance functionality without compromising on the look and design of the phone.

No mobiles at IPL semis and finals

Cricket fans with mobile phones will not be allowed inside the 60,000-capacity Dr D Y Patil Sports Stadium in Nerul for the IPL semifinals and finals to be held this week.

Taking a tough stand on the security issue, following the blasts at the Bangalore IPL venue, Maharashtra DGP A N Roy told reporters on Monday that the mobile ban was necessary in the current scenario. “We will also not be allowing any food item or water bottles inside the stadium and spectators are expected to come to the venue a good two hours before the start of the match,” said Roy.

Nokia 2690, 1800, 1616, 1280 launched in India

Nokia India has launched 4 new mobile phonesmobile phones in the country. These are the  entry level models  namely the 2690 , 1800 , 1616 and the 1280.

These phones were first announced for Indonesia back in November last year and now they have made their way to states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in India.

Virgin Mobile launches ‘Indian Panga League’

Virgin Mobile India launched a new campaign, the ‘Indian Panga League’ targeted towards the youth and to be run in the digital medium with over 100 films of 15 seconds each been shot and created. 

The campaign is to cash on the IPL cricket fever in the country.

Samsung launches Corby TV and Metro TV in India

Samsung has announced two new variants of its CDMA Corby and Metro phones. The Corby TV and Metro TV now features a customized application that will allow users to watch Live TV or recorded content.

The app known as MimobiTV Mobile TV is developed by Apalya and gives users on-demand content streaming of more than 40 channels on both CDMA 1X and 3G networks.

ZTE plans to sell 2 million handsets in India

ZTE India, a subsidiary of Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE, plans to sell two million mobile handsets in India by March 2011.

“We target to sell a minimum of two million handsets in 2010-11 under our own branding,” ZTE India Chairman and Managing Director D.K. Ghosh told IANS.

Motorola to launch iSIM a wafer that acts as another SIM

iSIMA product that can fulfill a user’s need of having multiple SIMs without actually buying a new handset is ready to be launched in India.

The US based equipment manufacturer Motorola is in talks with Indian telecom service providers to bring in iSIM (intelligent SIM), a flexible wafer that is attached to subscriber’s original SIM.

It provides additional services that can be controlled via SIM tool kit (STK) and other standards that work across mobile handsets, such as JAVA and SMS.

Nokia C3 expected in India soon

Nokia C3 might be the next big thing from Nokia to its Indian mobile users. Nokia C3 is a social networking mobile from Nokia at an affordable price. With its QWERTY keypad, Nokia C3 is going to be the first of its kind to be built on S4O platform.

Normally People don’t expect high end Nokia mobiles to be priced at lower costs. But Nokia is all set to change this trend with its new C3 mobile in India.
